Committee Members

Lisa is a Solicitor and Civil Mediation Council Registered Mediator in both Civil & Commercial Disputes and in Workplace & Employment disputes. She has practised as a Solicitor for over 28 years, qualifying in 1993.  

James is a Partner in Trethowans’ Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team, based in the Dorset offices in Poole and Bournemouth. He specialises in complex and catastrophic cases.

Owen was a Senior Claims Counsel with Travelers Europe and most recently the CEO of Solicitors Indemnity Fund Ltd. He specialised in Commercial Insurance and Claims against Solicitors. He has been a Partner in Private Practice as well as being an in house lawyer with The Prudential and Travelers Europe.

Qualifying as a Solicitor in 2008 and an Accredited Mediator in 2019, today Laura specialises in handling intricate financial arrangements during divorce or separation.

Paul is the Managing Partner, head of the Litigation and Disputes Team and the Agricultural Team at Blanchards Bailey with offices in Blandford, Dorchester, Shaftesbury and Weymouth. 

Martin is a Consultant in HK Law’s Corporate & Commercial team and specialises in work involving regulated firms and activities. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.  Martin is a Past President.  

Hayley has worked within law in the Dorset area since 2008 and has been working for Trethowans and its predecessor firm, Dickinson Manser since 2013 in various roles within the Private Client department. Hayley qualified as a CILEX Associate Graduate member in 2021 specialising in Probate Practice and Wills and Succession. She has recently qualified as a Solicitor.

Marnie is a Solicitor in the Corporate & Commercial team. Before joining HK Law in 2020, she completed her Legal Practice Course and Masters in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in London, achieving a Distinction in both.

Originally articled in Taunton, David qualified as a Solicitor in 1979. He has experience in Local Government in Hampshire as well as private practice, conveyancing and other mixed work. David is now settled in Dorset and enjoying retirement.

Robin qualified into the Family Team in December 2023. 

Rebecca joined the Porter Dodson Private Client Team in 2023. She assists clients with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning, probate and estate administration.

Simon Lacey is a Partner and the Head of the Criminal Department. He is a committed and experienced Criminal Solicitor. He is an able advocate and dedicated to both his work and his clients and deals with all aspects of the criminal process.

Katharine is Senior Partner of HK Law and Head of the Land Law Department which includes all aspects of land law.

Peter was a Partner and Senior Partner at Williams Thompson Solicitors LLP, he specialised in family law work and private client. Peter is now a Council Member for Dorset and is involved in several projects to improve engagement between the Law Society and its members and with the numerous solicitor communities and societies that exist.

Jess is a Legal Secretary in the Commercial department at HK Law. She has a keen interest in marketing and assists with the website and content for the DLS.
